About Wellfleet

Wellfleet is a small quiet fishing town with a year round population of around 3,000 people, that swells to over 18,000 in the summer. Wellfleet has miles of beautiful beaches that are protected by the National Seashore. Outdoor activities abound. Walking, biking, canoeing, swimming, fishing, surfing and sailing are just a few of the pursuits which visitors come to Wellfleet and Cape Cod to enjoy.

Wellfleet has many art galleries and restaurants well within walking distance of Moby housing. Evening entertainment consists of local bars providing a variety of different atmospheres.

Most conveniences are located in town, easily in biking or walking distance, including the bars, beaches, and the restaurant. If you come from a major urban area or a large college campus, please bear in mind that the number of sporting events, concerts, and similar activities is very limited in our local area – these activities are generally several hours away. The employees who are happiest here are those who enjoy outdoor activities more than nightlife. Bus transportation is available for exploring the Cape and beyond.

In the spring and early summer the weather is beautiful. Daytime highs are in the 70’s with cool comfortable nights. The summer warms up with highs in the 80’s, and nights in the 60’s. A perfect mix for going to the beach or riding your bike around the back roads of Wellfleet.

Wellfleet is a great New England Town, which can be a lot of fun in the summer, if you enjoy the beach and relaxing with you friends. A summer spent working in Wellfleet at Moby Dick’s may just be one of your best!
